Abstract
Genital tumors in female children and adolescents are uncommon. Most are embryonal or teratoid in nature although all varieties of neoplasia have been reported.
The most common tumors among Korean young girls are cystic teratomas, dysgerminoma and sarcoma botryoides.
Diagnosis depends on the well-recognized triad of history taking, physical examination and laboratory tests.
4Prognosis and the choice of optimal therapy depend on an exact pathologic diagnosis and on an awareness of the biologic behavior of the specific tumor.
